Here’s the plan…
Saturday, November 9th
We will meet at the Keflavik airport (main airport in Iceland) at 10am. Trip leader Lindsey will be there to pick you up and we will be departing to Fluoir which will be our home base for the duration of the trip.We will be stopping at a grocery store on the way, for you to stock up on any snacks you might want for the week. As well as lunch for today. We will spend the day settling into our HUGE authentic farmhouse, visiting the resident horses, soaking in the traditional hot tub and getting to know one another.
Sunday, November 10th
Today is a full day of WATERFALLS and we will set out to Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, ending our day at the beautiful black sand beach of Reynisdrangar; where gigantic sea stack reside. Legend has it these rock formations are in fact petrified trolls. Tonight we will all cook dinner together, have a soak in the hot pool and set up cameras for Northern Lights opportunities!
Monday, November 11th
Road trip time! We are off to the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It’s about a 3.5hr trip to get there so we will definitely be having some carpool karaoke, snacks and laughs along the way.
The Lagoon is full of icebergs and seals and makes for perfect photo ops. Across the road from the Lagoon is Diamond Beach, a beautiful black sand beach littered with small icebergs.
In the afternoon we are headed off to Skaftafell Nature Reserve for the incredible blue ice experience! We will be climbing on an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, situated within Skaftafell Nature Reserve, in southeast Iceland.
Our guides will lead us through a natural Eden of periwinkle blue ice ridges, deep crevasses and intricately formed ice sculptures. Throughout our tour, the surrounding scenery of Vatnajökull National Park is destined to take your breath away.
Tuesday, November 12th
Today is a day of rest and recovery as we get to sleep in! Don’t despair though, we have plenty of adventures for you planned.
We will spend the late morning/early afternoon visiting part of the famous Golden Circle including Gullfoss Waterfalls as well as the Geysir.
In the afternoon we will head to the Secret Lagoon for a nice hot soak.
Tonight after dinner we will set up our cameras, put on our warm stuff and look for the Northern Lights.
Wednesday, November 13th
Today we are heading out to the gorgeous Thingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Iceland as a nation and the place where North America and Europe split along tectonic plates. If you are lover of Jon Snow, you’ll be stoked to know that you have ventured north of “The Wall” and if you are here in winter, you can almost envision the White Walkers emerging out of the snowy horizon.
We will be checking off a major bucket list experience here when we immerse ourselves in the clearest water in the world and float between two continents in Iceland! A snorkelling adventure in the famous Silfra fissure is an unforgettable experience.
Tonight we will venture out and look for the Northern Lights. This is PRIME Northern Lights time of year.
Thursday, November 14th
It’s hiking day! We are off to see the famous DB plane wreck. In 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone in that plane survived. Later it turned out that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. The remains are still on the sand very close to the sea. Expect a 1-2hr hike each way.
Tonight we will head out for a celebratory dinner together! Please note: you will be responsible for paying for your own dinner.
Friday, November 15th
Sadly today is time to return to the airport. We will be departing at 7am from the house in order to be at the Blue Lagoon for a final Iceland experience before we head to the airport. The Blue Lagoon is the perfect way to end our Iceland adventure!

How are Women Who Explore Events different from other events?
The number one goal is to introduce you to other kick-ass, adventurous women. It’s all about building tribes! Our second goal is to introduce you to the outdoors. It’s quite the thing to witness, putting a group of women who are passionate about the outdoors in an epic location. We know it’s a cliche thing to say… but it’s where the magic happens.
Do you arrange transport to the event?
No. You are responsible for your own transportation to the events
Is food included?
Yes. Unless otherwise specified in the trip itinerary or information.
Is there a minimum age for this event?
19+ for all events in Canada. 21+ for all events in the USA.
I want to book with friends. How do I do that?
The best way is to add all of the tickets to one cart, that way you know if we have enough spaces.
I’m coming solo. Is that okay?
YES! More than 70% of women who sign up for our trips, sign up solo.
Is a deposit required to secure my place?
Yes. Deposits vary from trip to trip. Check each individual event page for details.
What if I need to cancel?
Please let us know as soon as possible. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds but you can transfer your ticket. If you can no longer make the event, please get in touch to discuss transferring your ticket.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the nature of the Women Who Explore getaways, we don’t offer refunds. We do, however, offer transfers. You are responsible for finding someone to transfer your ticket to and arranging the exchange of funds for your ticket. If you can no longer make the event, please get in touch to discuss transferring your ticket.
How many people will be going to the event?
Our group sizes vary, but never exceed more than 20 people. This gives us the chance to really connect with one another and to make sure each individual has the best time possible.
Who will be managing our trip?
One of our awesome trained ambassadors will be running your trip.
Is there a strict daily itinerary?
There is an itinerary for each getaway, but we realize everyone has their own needs. When you purchase a getaway, you will join a private Facebook Group to work out all the details. We will help facilitate to the best of our ability!
Do I have to join in on all the activities?
You can still join us on the getaway, the ticket price remains the same. You are not required to join in on all the activities. You do you!
Are these tech-free events?
Nope! We happen to love social media and sharing what are doing with others. We find it so inspiring! You can choose to be tech-free, but we encourage you to share your experiences digitally if you feel like it.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Let’s be honest, Mother Nature never cooperates. That’s why we love her. Keep an eye on the forecast and pack accordingly. We never let uncooperative weather ruin our fun!
