Check off this EPIC bucket list destination!
Iceland is home to waterfalls, volcanoes, snorkeling between two continents, glacier hiking, and so much more! Did we mention that it is also the time of year where you may experience the Northern Lights?? This week long adventure in Iceland is designed for the adventurer at heart and will be an experience you will never forget!!
Day 1: Arrive to Iceland
Welcome to Iceland, the land of fire and ice! We will meet at the Keflavik airport (main airport in Iceland) at 10 a.m. Your trip leader, Lindsey, will be there to pick you up and we will be departing to Laugaras which will be our home base for the duration of the trip.
We will be stopping at a grocery store on the way, for you to stock up on any snacks you might want for the week as well as lunch for today.
We will spend the day getting settled into our luxury home which has an incredible view of the Hvita river and mountains in the surrounding area. There will be an optional activity or you can spend the rest of the day relaxing with a book or taking in the views while soaking in the hot tub.
Tonight we will get to know each other over dinner and talk about the adventures that await us in the week ahead. As we wind down and evening sets in, we will be on the watch for Northern Lights.
Day 2: Iconic Iceland - Waterfalls, Black Sand Beaches and DB Plane Wreck
Today is a full day of EXPLORING! We will set out to see some of the iconic sights this beautiful country has to offer including two of Iceland’s famous waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss.
Our day will continue with a stop at the famous DB plane wreck. In 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone in that plane survived. Later it turned out that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. The remains are still on the sand very close to the sea. Expect a 1-2hr hike each way.
We will end our adventure today by visiting the sea arch, Dryholaey with our final stop taking in the beautiful black sand beach of Reynisdrangar. This is another iconic place to visit in Iceland where gigantic sea stacks reside. Legend has it these rock formations are in fact petrified trolls.
Tonight we will enjoy dinner together after we arrive back home and wind down with a nice soak in the hot pool. Tonight we will be on the hunt for Northern Lights.
Day 3: All the Glacier Things!! Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach and Glacier Hiking
Road trip time! We are off to the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It's about a 4-hour trip to get there so we will definitely be having some carpool karaoke, snacks and laughs along the way.
During the drive, we will pass through the picturesque village of Vik, the Eldhraun Lava Field, the largest lava field in the world, and experience the stunning and diverse scenery Iceland has to offer.
When we arrive, we will spend some time exploring the Jokulsarlon Lagoon full of icebergs and seals; perfect photo ops! Next we will head across the road from the Lagoon to Diamond Beach, a beautiful black sand beach littered with small icebergs.
In the afternoon we will head off to Skaftafell Nature Reserve for the incredible blue ice experience! We will be hiking on an outlet of Vatnajökull, Iceland’s largest glacier situated within Skaftafell Nature Reserve, in southeast Iceland. Our guides will lead us through a natural Eden of periwinkle blue ice ridges, deep crevasses and intricately formed ice sculptures. Throughout our tour, the surrounding scenery of Vatnajökull National Park is destined to take your breath away.
After this exhilarating experience, we will make our way back home with a couple stops along the way. The days are short in Iceland this time of year so if time permits, we will make a stop for a short 2 mile hike to experience the Fjadrargljufur Canyon and visit the village of Vik.
Once we arrive back to our accommodations, dinner will be prepared followed by some relaxing in the hot pool while we keep watch for the Northern Lights to dazzle the sky.
Day 4: Iceland's Hidden Gems & Ice Cave Tour
Today is a day of rest and recovery as we get to sleep in! Don't despair though, we have plenty of adventures for you planned. After a leisurely morning, we will be heading out to explore a few of Iceland's hidden gems along our way to our big adventure for the day!
In the afternoon, we will be jumping into a Super Jeep as we make our way across some of Iceland's crazy landscapes. Once we arrive at our destination, we will make our way on a snowy trek to find a unique ice cave to explore. If there is time and energy after this incredible experience, there will be an option to stop and take in one of the many sights along the way.
After the day’s adventure has concluded, we will head back to home base to relax with a hot soak while dinner is prepared for you. Don't forget to keep watch for the Northern Lights...they can come alive at anytime!
Day 5: Snorkel Between Continents & The Golden Circle
Today we are heading out to the gorgeous Thingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Iceland as a nation and the place where North America and Europe split along tectonic plates. We will take some time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site and take in the history of this place.
We will be checking off a major bucket list experience here as we immerse ourselves in the clearest water in the world and float between the North American and European continents! A snorkeling adventure in the famous Silfra fissure is sure to be an unforgettable experience!
We will spend the rest of the day visiting part of the famous Golden Circle including Gullfoss Waterfall, the Geysir and Kerid Crater.
After a full circle, we will head back to home base for dinner and relaxing this evening with a nice soak in our traditional Icelandic hot pool. Tonight we will be on watch for the Northern Lights to make a magical appearance.
Day 6: Explore Reykjavik & Secret Lagoon
We are off to Reykjavik, the capital and the largest city in Iceland. Today you’ll have time to explore all that Reykjavik has to offer including great food, cute shops and tons of museums! Don’t miss out on visiting the Hallgrimskirkja church, the highest building in town. If you are craving more adventure today, take a ride to the top of the tower for incredible panoramic views overlooking the city.
Once we have experienced the city life, we will make our way back for an evening soak in the hot pool and a delicious farewell dinner. Tonight we will be on the lookout for the opportunity to experience the beautiful Northern Lights.

Meet Your Trip Leader - Lindsey Egan - CEO
Lindsey is a happy dog mamma who loves getting outside and exploring new places!
Her love for travel and adventure began after her first experience abroad in Chile where she was introduced to hiking while visiting Patagonia. Believe it or not, she wasn't hooked on the outdoors immediately and that didn't become an important part of her life until years later.
After moving to the Oregon in 2014, Lindsey found herself
spending all of her free time exploring trails, chasing waterfalls and sleeping under the stars every chance she got. Since then she has had an opportunity to travel and hike to some incredible places around the world. Iceland is one of her favorite places she has visited. The jaw-dropping scenery, waterfalls a plenty and hot springs are a few of her favorites and she is looking forward to sharing it with you on this adventure!
