Welcome to Iceland, the land of fire and ice! Meet at the Keflavik airport (KEF), the main airport in Iceland, by 11 a.m. Your trip leader will be there to meet you and together we will head to Reykjavik and check into our hotel for the evening.

The rest of today is yours to explore the world's northernmost capital city, Reykajvik. Admire the city's colorful and unique architecture, indulge in traditional cuisine, visit a one-of-a-kind museum, head out for an afternoon whale watching tour, climb to the top of the Hallgimskirkja church, shop till you drop or find your own way to explore the colorful city today.

Tonight you will have the choice to dine with the group or enjoy dinner at the place of your choice. From fine dining to hot dogs to local breweries, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from within walking distance of your hotel. After enjoying a delicious dinner out, we will head back to the hotel to get some rest for our big road trip tomorrow.

We have an exciting week ahead as we explore Iceland's Famous Ring Road and head out in search of Northern Lights!

Please note that viewing the Northern Lights is not guaranteed. The Northern Lights are very unpredictable and heavily influenced by the local weather conditions, so before heading to bed each night we will check the forecast for the evening. If conditions are favorable, we will stay up to monitor outside and if requested we will wake you up when the lights begin to dance across sky!

Wake up and enjoy breakfast at our hotel before we depart Reykjavik. Today we are heading out to explore Iceland's famous Golden Circle.

Our first stop is the gorgeous Thingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Iceland as a nation and the place where North America and Europe split along tectonic plates. We will take some time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site and take in the history of this place.

Next up we will stop to visit the Strokkur Geysir. Also known as the Great Geysir, this is Iceland's most visited active geysir and has been active for approximately 10,000 years!

Visiting the Golden Circle wouldn't be complete without a stop at one of Iceland's most iconic and beloved waterfalls, Gullfoss. After taking in the power and beauty of this waterfall, we will make a stop at one of Iceland's hidden gems.

Once we complete our morning tour, we will visit the Friðheimar greenhouse to enjoy lunch. Here we will learn about the processes and use of geothermal heating in Icelandic horticulture which allows them to grow vegetables year round, even in the cold winter months.

We will spend the rest of our day in the Icelandic countryside as we settle into our guesthouse for the evening. Take time to unwind after today's adventure with a relaxing soak in the hot tub or explore the backyard and meet some friendly Icelandic horses as dinner is prepared for you. We will enjoy dinner together as the sunsets.

Tonight is a great night for the Northern Lights as we are away from city lights. Weather permitting the lights will come out and we will get to experience a beautiful glow of green across the night sky.

Wake up with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and enjoy a view of the countryside. Today we will make our way along Iceland's South Coast visiting some of the most iconic places.

On our next adventure today we will be taking a hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier. This glacier is an outlet glacier of the might ice of Mýrdalsjökull, Iceland's fourth largest ice cap. On this easy glacier hike, take in the views of the surrounding mountains as you climb up for an incredible view of the South Coast.

After this once in a lifetime experience, we will continue our journey exploring the South coast on our way to Vik. Along the way we will stop to visit the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Our day will finish with a picturesque drive as we descend down the mountains into Vik, a remote seaside village and Iceland's southernmost village on the mainland.

Tonight you will enjoy the Icelandic Lava Show, the only place in the world where you can safely experience hot molten lava in close proximity. This 50-minute show recreates a volcanic eruption and you will have a unique opportunity to watch lava flowing, hear it sizzling and feel the intense heat that radiates from it.

The evening will end with dinner and time to unwind before tomorrow's exciting adventure! If the weather is favorable and with a little luck, the Northern Lights will dance for us over Vik.

Wake up, enjoy breakfast and get caffeinated for the day! We will be continuing our drive around the Ring Road heading Southeast today.

Today's adventure begins with time to explore the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur and Múlagljúfur canyons. After plenty of time to capture all the beauty in each of these places, we will make our way over to one of Iceland's natural crown jewels, the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. This lagoon is Iceland's deepest lake which began forming in 1934 when the Breidamerkurjokull glacier began retreating, leaving the lagoon in its path. Today the lagoon is known for its icebergs that are composed of ice that is over 1,000 years old.

We will enjoy a 40-minute Amphibian boat tour where you will sail between the magnificent towering icebergs passing through the lagoon as they make their way to the ocean. After our boat tour, we will enjoy lunch at the lagoon.

After all that, our day isn't over yet! Our final stop for today is Diamond Beach. Littered with icebergs from the Jökulsárlón lagoon, this black sand beach is a one-of-a-kind and definitely a 100 photos worthy spot.

Meet Your Trip Leader - Lindsey Egan - CEO

Lindsey is a happy dog mamma who loves getting outside and exploring new places!

Her love for travel and adventure began after her first experience abroad in Chile where she was introduced to hiking while visiting Patagonia. Believe it or not, she wasn't hooked on the outdoors immediately and that didn't become an important part of her life until years later.

After moving to the Oregon in 2014, Lindsey found herself
spending all of her free time exploring trails, chasing waterfalls and sleeping under the stars every chance she got.

Since then she has had an opportunity to travel and hike to some incredible places around the world. Iceland is one of her favorite places she has visited. The jaw-dropping scenery, waterfalls a plenty and hot springs are a few of her favorites and she is looking forward to sharing this magical place with you!
