Here’s the plan…
Saturday, October 19th
We will meet at the Keflavik airport (main airport in Iceland) at 9am. Co-founder of Women Who Explore, Lindsay will be there to pick you up and we will be departing to Laugar, which will be our home base for the duration of the trip. Along the way we will be stopping to explore the awesome towns along the way. Our accommodations for the week is a large home, with 4 bedrooms, each with two single beds and their own bathroom. We are located right in Northern Lights territory and will be watching for them all week!
Sunday, October 20th
Today we are heading out to the gorgeous Diamond Circle, one of the many amazing routes in the North. Often overlooked by tourists, this 260 route includes many natural attractions including Dettifoss, Hafragilsfoss, Hljooaklettar, Asbyrgi, Godafoss and Lake Myvatn. This will be a full day of driving, as well as stopping to take photos and marvel in the beauty of the north.
Monday, October 21st
Today is a full day of adventure and we will head out to meet and ride Icelandic horses. No experience required to ride the horses and not only will we ride through beautiful landscapes, but also learn about the Icelandic horse and what makes them so special.
Next we will head to Iceland’s first beer spa where we can sample beer, as well as take a soak in a beautiful tub, full of beer (trust us, it’s amazing). Relaxation and an icy cold beer will wrap up the day.
Tuesday, October 22nd
Did you know that Northern Iceland is considered to be the BEST place in all of Europe to go whale watching? Today we will head out for our 3 hour whale watching tour. Prepare to see all different kinds of whales including the famous Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales and maybe even Blue Whales.
Wednesday, October 23rd
Today will be a combination of free time (or as a group we will decide on something epic) as well as a visit to the Myvatn Nature Baths. Unlike the Blue Lagoon, these nature baths are lesser known but well worth a visit. Drawing on a centuries-old tradition, the tastefully designed complex offers bathers a completely natural experience that begins with a relaxing dip amidst clouds of steam rising up from a fissure deep in the Earth’s surface, and ends with a luxurious swim in a pool of geothermal water drawn from depths of up to 2,500 metres.
It’s premium Northern Lights time, so we will be on the lookout tonight!
Thursday, October 24th
Our last full day in Northern Iceland is packed full of adventure as we embark on a Super Jeep Tour to Aldeyjarfoss. Unaccessible to normal vehicles in the fall/winter, these super jeeps will take us on an epic off-road adventure.
Tonight will be our farewell dinner that will be held at a family run restaurant right near our house. You will be responsible for covering your own dinner.

How are Women Who Explore Events different from other events?
The number one goal is to introduce you to other kick-ass, adventurous women. It’s all about building tribes! Our second goal is to introduce you to the outdoors. It’s quite the thing to witness, putting a group of women who are passionate about the outdoors in an epic location. We know it’s a cliche thing to say… but it’s where the magic happens.
Do you arrange transport to the event?
No. You are responsible for your own transportation to the events

Who will be managing our trip?
One of our awesome trained ambassadors will be running your trip.
Is there a strict daily itinerary?
There is an itinerary for each getaway, but we realize everyone has their own needs. When you purchase a getaway, you will join a private Facebook Group to work out all the details. We will help facilitate to the best of our ability!
Do I have to join in on all the activities?
You can still join us on the getaway, the ticket price remains the same. You are not required to join in on all the activities. You do you!
Are these tech-free events?
Nope! We happen to love social media and sharing what are doing with others. We find it so inspiring! You can choose to be tech-free, but we encourage you to share your experiences digitally if you feel like it.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Let’s be honest, Mother Nature never cooperates. That’s why we love her. Keep an eye on the forecast and pack accordingly. We never let uncooperative weather ruin our fun!
