Here’s the plan…
Day 1: Arrival
Fly into the Marrakech Menara Airport where you’ll meet your guide for the 9 days of adventure. We’ll take you to your beautiful riad where you’ll check in and get settled into your room before joining the crew for a traditional Moroccan meal.
Arrival: Welcome dinner at 8pm. Fly into Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) and arrive by 6pm to take advantage of the transfer.

Day 2: Tour of Ubud
Enjoy breakfast at the Riad before heading south to escape the busy life of Marrakech. The journey will take us through small Berber villages, across the High Atlas Mountains, and to the famous peak of Tizi n’Tichka.
We’ll make our way to UNESCO world heritage site, The Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, which has been featured in a number of western films.
After lunch, we’ll head to Dades Gorges passing through Ouarzazate, the “hollywood of Africa”. We’ll continue the journey through the Valley of the Roses, the city of Skoura, and arrive towards the middle of the canyons to stay in Dades Gorges overnight.

Day 3: Tour of Ubud Part II
Time to stretch those legs, get outside, and hike! Climb to the very top of Dades Gorges for an unforgettable view. We’ll take a break near the Nomad caves and enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea with a local Berber family before heading down to the grand canyons of Dades Gorges.
Later, experience a traditional meal with a local Berber family. After dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to adorn your skin in henna while enjoying live music played by locals.

Day 4: White Water Rafting & Travel to Canggu
Eat a hearty Moroccan breakfast before today’s adventure! On our journey to the desert, we’ll see thousands of Kasbahs and drive through colorful Berber villages. We’ll pass by Tinghir and its beautiful palm grove and continue to the Todgha Gorge where we’ll trek along the tall canyons, a much loved trail for mountain climbers.
After, we’ll continue on to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. We’ll saddle up on camels for a sunset desert ride through the sand dunes to arrive at our camp in an oasis.
Sip on Moroccan mint tea upon arrival, listen to traditional music, dance if you feel so inclined, settle into camp and enjoy dinner with the group. We’ll spend the night in our nomadic tents or outside under the shooting stars with our bellies full of food.
Included: Breakfast, Todgha Gorge Trek (1.5 hour), Sunset Camel Ride, Dinner
Day 5: Tour of Canggu
After a memorable night in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, wake up early and enjoy the silence paired with an unforgettable sunrise.
Ride your camels out of the desert to meet your driver, then leave for Gnawa in Khamlia for yummy tea and more traditional tunes. We’ll stop for food in Nkoub, then continue to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley. We’ll spend the night in Skoura Valley.

Day 6: Travel to Nusa Penida
We’re off to Imlil, a small village in the mountains! Most popular for its trails, and widely known for its high peaks and stunning views. Today, you can chill or do some more hiking & exploration.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and dinner on the house today.

Day 7: Tour of Nusa Penida | Part 1
After a relaxing day, we will hike Toubkal National Park. We’ll trek through the park and stop by a nearby waterfall! Enjoy a picnic lunch outside with the group and dinner together in the evening.

Day 8: Tour of Nusa Penida | Part II
We’ll finish our journey over the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech mid-morning. There will be an optional spa treatment for those who need it!
The afternoon will be devoted to discovering Marrakech, the second oldest imperial city known as the “Pearl of the South”. Visiting places such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Majorelle Gardens. We’ll return by noon and hit the ground running again in the afternoon as we explore the souks and world famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square. The square is buzzing with story tellers, acrobats, snake-charmers, magicians and much more.
Join the group for one last meal to cheers to your new friendships and the adventure of a lifetime!

Day 9: End of trip, transfer to airport
We’re sad to see you go! We’ll drop you off at the airport to catch flights home.

How are Women Who Explore Events different from other events?
The number one goal is to introduce you to other kick-ass, adventurous women. It’s all about building tribes! Our second goal is to introduce you to the outdoors. It’s quite the thing to witness, putting a group of women who are passionate about the outdoors in an epic location. We know it’s a cliche thing to say… but it’s where the magic happens.
Do you arrange transport to the event?
No. You are responsible for your own transportation to the events
Do I need travel insurance?
All of our tours require that you have medical travel insurance which includes at least USD$200,000 worth of emergency evacuation and repatriation coverage. Two weeks before departure we will ask you for proof of coverage. Cancellation insurance is recommended but not mandatory.
Is food included?
Yes. Unless otherwise specified in the trip itinerary or information.
Is there a minimum age for this event?
19+ for all events in Canada. 21+ for all events in the USA.
I want to book with friends. How do I do that?
The best way is to add all of the tickets to one cart, that way you know if we have enough spaces.
I’m coming solo. Is that okay?
YES! More than 70% of women who sign up for our trips, sign up solo.
Is a deposit required to secure my place?
Yes. Deposits vary from trip to trip. Check each individual event page for details.
What if I need to cancel?
Please let us know as soon as possible. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds but you can transfer your ticket. If you can no longer make the event, please get in touch to discuss transferring your ticket.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the nature of the Women Who Explore getaways, we don’t offer refunds. We do, however, offer transfers. You are responsible for finding someone to transfer your ticket to and arranging the exchange of funds for your ticket. If you can no longer make the event, please get in touch to discuss transferring your ticket.
How many people will be going to the event?
Our group sizes vary, but never exceed more than 20 people. This gives us the chance to really connect with one another and to make sure each individual has the best time possible.
Who will be managing our trip?
One of our awesome trained ambassadors will be running your trip.
Is there a strict daily itinerary?
There is an itinerary for each getaway, but we realize everyone has their own needs. When you purchase a getaway, you will join a private Facebook Group to work out all the details. We will help facilitate to the best of our ability!
Do I have to join in on all the activities?
You can still join us on the getaway, the ticket price remains the same. You are not required to join in on all the activities. You do you!
Are these tech-free events?
Nope! We happen to love social media and sharing what are doing with others. We find it so inspiring! You can choose to be tech-free, but we encourage you to share your experiences digitally if you feel like it.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Let’s be honest, Mother Nature never cooperates. That’s why we love her. Keep an eye on the forecast and pack accordingly. We never let uncooperative weather ruin our fun!
