**PLEASE NOTE AN EVENTBRITE REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY TO ATTEND THIS EVENT – SEE LINK BELOW. Responding as “Going” to this event on Facebook does not reserve a spot; you must register on Eventbrite in order to attend this event.**
The Eventbrite registration will go live on Monday, August 8th at 8:00 a.m. PST
Due to regulations in the National Forest, we can only have a total pack size of 12, including the ambassadors leading the event. In order to comply, we have to require each member attending this event register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristina or Jamie directly!
TRAIL DESCRIPTION: We’re headed out for an easy beginner’s backpacking trip to a beautiful, quiet lake nestled in a forgotten corner of the Mount Hood Wilderness. The trail is fairly easy and short to our campsite, where we will set up our home for the weekend and go over food storage and safety in the backcountry. Once we have set up our campsite, there are a couple of short day hike options if everyone is feeling up for it. Ahead of time you’ll receive packing lists, tips on how to pack your bag, resources on where to rent and buy gear, food tips and tricks, and instruction on how to store your food in the backcountry, with tips on needed gear to safely store your food.
LIABILITY WAIVER: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis. Due to local guidelines, and in accordance with the CDC, Women Who Explore will be limiting the number of attendees per event. In order to comply with these guidelines, each member attending the event will be required to register through Eventbrite.

WHAT TO BRING:
Here are some lists that I like to use.
If you successfully register for this event, you will be added to a closed Facebook group. In that group, you will be given a full, required packing list. If you do not receive an invite to the closed Facebook group, please reach out to Jamie Lyon or Kristina Marx.
** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**
EVENT GUIDELINES FOR COVID:
By registering for this event, participants agree to abide by the guidelines set forth by Women Who Explore which include:
• Practice social distancing.
• Carry a personal hygiene kit (mask and hand sanitizer) and have it available during the event.
• Refrain from sharing transportation, gear, food or close spaces with others outside of your household.
• Practice self-awareness and do not attend if you have had any flu-like symptoms, exposed to or have tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days.
• Post-event: anyone who develops flu-like symptoms within 14 days after joining an event should contact the ambassador and Women Who Explore at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
Questions? Please reach out to Kristina Marx or Jamie Lyon with any questions. Can’t wait to see you all and hit the trail!
