Day 1: Welcome to Zion! (Glendale, UT)
Arrive in Glendale, Utah on the morning of Sep 30th by 10:00 am and meet at Zion Family Ranch Campground. Upon arrival you will have time to settle in, get ready for today’s hike and meet the other ladies joining this long weekend adventure!
If you are flying in to join us, the nearest airports are:
- St George Ut - 1hr 45min drive
- Las Vegas NV - 3hr 30min drive
- Salt Lake Ut - 4hr 15min drive
Around 11:30 am we will head out for our first hike to Cable Mountain, overlooking the main canyon of Zion National Park. We will take our time on the trail enjoying in the fall colors and taking in the views during this 7.5 mile hike. To keep you fueled, a yummy packed lunch will be provided. We’ll arrive back at our campground in late afternoon where we can relax and enjoy the quiet setting. The private pond has kayaks for our use. We will get to know each other better over a delicious dinner to end our evening.
Day 2: Hoodoo and SUP Yoga
After a delicious breakfast at camp, we will pack up and head to Red Canyon State Park. Today we will be hiking Thunder Mountain; not the one at Disneyland but this is the one the ride was named after! This hike is approximately 8 miles so don’t forget to pack your sack lunch for today’s adventure. During our hike we will hike among the tall pine trees and take in some amazing vistas of the iconic hoodoos this area is known for. After our hike, we will treat ourselves to yummy pie!
Once we're done with our hike we will head back to our camp and relax a little before our private SUP yoga session in the afternoon on a private pond in a lush valley setting. We’ll end our night with group dinner and rest up for our big adventure tomorrow!
Day 3: Canyoneering and the Heart of Zion
We will be starting out early today! Breakfast will be a grab and go style. We will meet up with Always Adventure, who will be driving us and guiding us through a technical canyon today! Our adventure starts with an hour long, scenic and fun 4x4 drive as we make our way to the trailhead. Once we arrive the real adventure begins! We will gear up and begin our descend into Rock Canyon filled with incredible rappels and down climbs that won’t disappoint!
Once we arrive at the bottom of Rock Canyon, we will be standing in the East Fork of the Virgin River, the area known as Parunuweap. This is an iconic Zion beauty not to miss! With no crowds, we will spend a few hours exploring the river canyon area where we will see side canyons, petroglyphs, and narrow slots. After we are done exploring, we will return up river to Rock Canyon and make our exit. At the top we will treated to personal gourmet pizzas prepared in a portable pizza oven.
After dinner we will return by 4x4 and head back to camp. This day we will walk/hike approximately 9.5 miles.
Day 4: World’s Longest Slot Canyon
We’ll wake up and enjoy our last morning at camp together. After breakfast, we will break camp and head out for our last adventure together. You’ll drive your personal car as far as Kanab where we’ll safely leave them until we return from the hike. Today we will be exploring 6 miles of Buckskin Gulch via Wire pass. For the next 3 hours we will hike you through an amazing canyon, with its narrow and oh so tall walls. After we reach our half way mark, we will turn around and head back to the vehicle the same way we came.
We’ll return to Kanab for a celebratory late lunch at Wild Tyme Café which features amazing farm to table dishes! After lunch we will say our goodbyes (around 4:00 pm) and head our separate ways.

Meals: All meals will be provided. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.
Trip Confirmation: This trip requires a minimum number of ladies to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive an trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided. Please let Lindsey know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).
Cost: $1,195 per person for single occupancy; all gear included
Discounts: A discount of $75 is available if you choose to bring your own camping gear or $50 if you choose to share a tent. To share a tent, you must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination prior to registration. You will be randomly paired with another participant if you elect this option. Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of this trip, payment is non-refundable at the time of purchase. If you can no longer attend, you are able to transfer your ticket to another guest. You are responsible for finding someone to transfer your ticket to and arranging the exchange of funds. Please get in touch with the Women Who Explore to discuss the transfer of your ticket. We may be able to assist if there is a wait list.

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Concert and admission is FREE, but parking is $5.00 per vehicle. Pack your own picnic, lawn chairs and blankets!
HOTEL FICTION (About the band): Hotel Fiction is an Athens, Georgia-based band consisting of best friends Jade Long and Jessica Thompson. Both women have been playing music for over ten years and began writing, performing, and playing together in January 2019. In August, Hotel Fiction released their debut single “Astronaut Kids” to all streaming platforms which received a warm welcome from local audiences and several major U.S. cities. Hotel Fiction’s sound has often been described as genre-fluid, with indie, pop, and rock influences. With Jade’s dynamic vocals and piano and Jessica’s complementing lead guitar and harmonies, the two create a unique experience for listeners. In quarantine, the two finished an album and are expecting to release it in 2021.
Due to local guidelines, and in accordance with the CDC, Women Who Explore will be limiting the number of attendees per event. In order to comply with these guidelines, each member attending the event will be required to register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend.
