WWE Washington State: Poo Poo Point Hike
March 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
WWE members are invited to join us on a hike to Poo Poo Point via Chirico Trail
After a quick, yet steep hike up Tiger Mountain, we’ll enjoy lunch and hopefully see some paragliders take off from the top before hiking back down.
The hike is 3.8 mile roundtrip hike with 1760 ft gain. Please familiarize yourself with the hike by reading about it here: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/poo-poo-point-chirico-trail
Driving directions to the trailhead:
From I-90 in Issaquah take Exit 17 (Front Street) and head south on Front Street through the old part of town. At the south end of town, Front Street changes names to Issaquah Hobart Road.3.1 miles from I-90, turn into the large graveled parking area on the left adjacent to the paraglider landing field. In 2014, a center turn lane was added to the road making turns much easier. Portable toilets may be available at the south end of the parking area. There is no regular source of water here. This side of the field is King County land, and it is not necessary to display a Discover Pass. There is no posted time limit.
The group will wait for 15 minutes past trailhead meetup time for late arrivals.
As always, we encourage all hikers to pack the 10 essentials for outdoor survival, which can be found here: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html
* rain coat top layer
* pack your full supply of water for the day
* pack snacks and lunch
* dress warm and in layers; gloves and hat too
* shoes with good traction that can get muddy
* bring a light back pack to put layers in as you shed them
* Please plan transportation accordingly as the trailhead tends to be busy.
