WWE Elk Pass and Frozen Lake Hike

January 31 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

WWE Jewell Pass via Prairie Trail

If we are hiking to West Elk Pass, why not visit Frozen Lake, a truly worthy objective? True to its name, this gorgeous lake remains frozen for about nine months of the year. This trail is a 13.8 km return, height gain of 493 m, moderate. There is a good likelihood we will encounter lots of snow and ice, please plan accordingly and check the packing list for extra items to bring along. For safety reasons there is a cap of a maximum 12 hikers.

Avalanche conditions and the avalanche forecast in the area were extreme lately and so, looking for a little safe adventure we turned our sights on the outer mountains .
