WWE Portland – Beginner’s Backpack Series – Pansy Lake
** THIS EVENT REQUIRES AN EVENTBRITE REGISTRATION**
The Eventbrite tickets will go live on Monday, April 1st 2019 at 10:00 a.m. (PST).
Due to regulations in the National Forest, we can only have a total pack size of 12, including the ambassador leading the event. In order to comply, we have to require each member attending this event register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristina directly!
• 2.4 miles round trip, 500 feet elevation gain to the lake
(OPTIONAL) • 7.5 miles, 2,100 feet elevation gain to the lookout tower – we would make camp at the lake first, and then continue on to the historic Bull of the Woods Lookout tower
This trail rises through a beautiful old-growth forest, loaded with ripe huckleberries in August, literally as far as the eye can see, to a beautiful, quiet lake, nestled beneath the slopes of Pansy Mountain. The lake was also the site of an old copper mine, constructed by Robert Bagby, so named from the bright hued copper mined from the shaft.
NW Forest Pass (note, if you buy a day pass, you must purchase two!)
WHAT TO BRING:
Due to the nature of this event, a full, required packing list will be provided to the Eventbrite registrants at a later date.
** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**
