Women Who Explore is excited to be teaming up with the North Idaho Tourism Alliance to bring you an unforgettable weekend exploring this beautiful part of the state! Enjoy hikes, waterfalls, history, great food, scenic boat rides and more!
Day 1: Welcome to North Idaho! (Bonners Ferry)
Arrive in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on the evening of May 27th (less than a two-hour drive from the Spokane airport!) and head over to the quaint Northside School Bed & Breakfast. Check in is at 4 p.m. and you will have time to get settled in to your room for the evening and meet the other ladies joining the adventure this long weekend. Don’t forget your swimsuit – we’ll have access to the B&Bs seasonal pool and hot tub.
Around 7 p.m. we will head out for dinner. There are plenty of options to choose from for dining in downtown Bonners Ferry. Finish the evening with some hot tub soaks or relax on the B&Bs beautiful outdoor patio under the stars.
Day 2: Wildlife & Waterfalls (Bonners Ferry to Sandpoint)
After a delicious breakfast served at the B&B, we will pack up and head over to the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, nestled near the slopes of the gorgeous Selkirk Mountains. We will have several options for walking trails, as well as opportunities to photograph and view wildlife throughout the refuge.
Once we’ve taken in the gorgeous sites, we’re headed off to Snow Creek Falls Trail with our snacks or sack lunches in hand. The trail is rated as moderate, with very little elevation gain, and provides two viewpoints of the stunning, lacy white Snow Creek Falls, as well as several areas where we can relax amongst the beautiful cedars of the Northern Idaho forests.
After we’ve explored Snow Creek Falls Trail to our satisfaction, we’ll head south to Sandpoint, Idaho, where we will be staying at the LaQuinta Inn. Again, we will have a plethora of fantastic restaurants to choose from nearby.
Day 3: Historic Tours & Cozy Lakeside Cabins (Sandpoint to Priest Lake)
Connie’s is the perfect little spot for a diner-style breakfast before we head over to the family owned and locally operated MickDuff’s Brewery for a private tour. Afterwards, we’ll head to the Beardmore Building for a historic tour. We will also visit the local Priest River Museum where will be taking a trip back in time to learn about the history of this area. Next up we head to the Beardmore Bistro, Wine Bar and Tap House for a delicious hot lunch.
After we’ve learned more about the area we are exploring, we’ll head straight back in to the heart of the Selkirk Mountains, to the scenic Priest Lake. We will check-in to the cozy lakeside cabins of Hills Resort for the evening. Once we are all settled in, Blue Diamond Marina will be providing us with a pontoon boat to tour the beautiful lake and take in the seriously stunning views. Dinner will be prepared at the cabin that evening as we relax by a warm fire under the stars.
Day 4: Mountain Lakes & Bicycle Rides (Priest Lake, Spirit Lake, Athol)
Wake up, breathe in the fresh mountain air and take a stroll down to the lake as breakfast is prepared for you. After a leisurely morning we will head south towards Spirit Lake. Fresh Air E-bikes will be outfitting us with electrical bikes as we ride out on a little adventure and explore the area. There is an option to test out a mountain bike on one of the beautiful bike paths in the Empire Trails system as well (limited to the first 6 women). After we return from a nice ride, the wine bar next door will be open for refreshments and snacks – and your first beer, wine or mocktail is on the house!
Next, we head to the beautiful Cedar Mountain Farm Bed & Breakfast to settle in for the evening. The farm is located on a beautiful 440 acres, full of woodlands, meadows and creeks. We will enjoy our final dinner together here in the bunkhouse.
Day 5: Tree Top Adventures Then Time to Head Home (Athol, Bayview)
Cedar Mountain Farm Bed & Breakfast will be providing us with a delicious morning meal before we head out on one last adventure! We will head to the Tree to Tree Adventure Park to tackle their aerial obstacle and adventure course before parting ways. If you are up to learn more about the area, don’t miss the Museum at the Brig on your way back home!

Meals: Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.
Once booking is complete, you will be sent more information by email as well as a link to be added to a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided. Please let Lindsey know if you do not have or use Facebook.
COST: $435 USD per person
After registering on Eventbrite, please send payment to Lindsey via Friends & Family PayPal (email@example.com) Full payment is due within 24 hours to secure your spot. Please confirm by email once your payment has been sent. After you payment is received you will be invited to the closed Facebook group. If payment is not received as noted, your registration may be cancelled.
Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of this trip, payment is non-refundable at the time of purchase. If you can no longer attend, you are able to transfer your ticket to another guest. You are responsible for finding someone to transfer your ticket to and arranging the exchange of funds. Please get in touch with the ambassador to discuss the transfer your ticket. The ambassador may be able to assist if there is a wait list.
