Women Who Explore: NE Wisconsin Dunes Cordwalk Hike
February 16 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
We’ll do the Dunes Cordwalk hike (about 2 miles round trip) at Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, WI.
Meet at parking area #5 (other parking available at #4 or the main lot #6 just down the hill) and we will start at the trail head. As mentioned above we will hike the Dunes Cordwalk (2 mi.) which runs parallel to the Lake Michigan shoreline. The north trail is 0.5 mi. and the south trail is 1.5 mi. Visitors will see active and stabilized sand dunes, inter-dunal wetlands, and a dry-mesic white pine forest in the Kohler Dunes State Natural Area. This trail offers a moderate to difficult hiking challenge. Dogs are allowed here and this a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring your kiddos or drag your significant others along! Please come prepared and dress appropriately for the weather! Possible sign of light snow in the morning, but hopefully it will clear up by afternoon. If not, then it should be beautiful to hike in! Hiking shoes or snow boots would be recommended for this hike. No fee for this event BUT there is a fee requirement for entering the park (unless you have a state park vehicle sticker).
** Friendly reminder: please click the link below to sign your liability wavier before joining your first Women Who Explore meet up. We ask that you sign the wavier once annually. Thank you!
Questions? Please reach out to NE Wisconsin ambassador Aandi K at firstname.lastname@example.org. Can’t wait to see you all and hit the trail!
** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**
