Winter Wolf, Wildlife Watching & Hot Springs Getaway
February 27, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - March 1, 2020 @ 10:00 am
Winter Wolf & Wildlife Watching and Hot Springs Getaway
Dates: Thursday Feb 27 – Sunday March 1st
Join Women Who Explore ambassadors Alana & Alex on Winter retreat into the heart of the Yellowstone Region . Spend a day looking for wolves and other wildlife and unwind in the local hot springs.
Arrive at cabin outside Gardiner, Montana. Check in as early as 4 PM – the rest of the evening will be getting to know each other, and talking about the plan for the rest of the weekend. You will be required to get yourself to the cabin. We recommend flying into Bozeman, our cabin will be just outside Gardiner, about a 90 miles south of Bozeman. We will do what we can to arrange carpools/taxis with participants from the airport, but ultimately you are required to get to the cabin on your own.
Dinner will be provided at cabin.
Spend the day getting acquainted with each other and this beautiful area! The day is yours to explore however you choose… take a hike, head out on snowshoes, spend the day relaxing in town or head out to explore the sights nearby.
We’ll have a continental breakfast at the cabin (think: oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, fruit) and we’ll pack lunches for the day (think PB&J sammies). Dinner will be a taco bar at the cabin.
This day will also include natural hot spring soaks at Yellowstone Hot Springs just outside of Gardiner
The day will start early – a 6 AM tour time. Today we’ll join Yellowstone Wolf Tracker for a private winter yellowstone wolf and wildlife tour to enjoy the beauty of yellowstone in winter. They’ll have a continental breakfast for us and snacks for the day. The day will start early to maximize wildlife viewing time. Winter tours focus on wolf watching in the Lamar Valley, the little “Serengeti” of North America, the wildlife rich region where wolves were reintroduced. Winter is also the best season to see a majority of the park’s wildlife. Animals often seen include pronghorn, bull elk, bald eagles, bighorn sheep, bison, coyotes and other critters that live in Yellowstone. February is wolf mating season, so our odds are higher! The tour will last 6-8 hours and we’ll be done by midday.
After the tour we will head back to our cabin and unwind for the night, play games, and reminisce on the days activities. Dinner will be at the cabin.
This is the day that we pack up and leave and say our goodbyes. Checkout by 10 AM. If you’re sticking around, feel free to explore the sites with your newly made friendships!
