Basic Wilderness First Aid Description

Come join Women Who Explore Salt Lake in learning some basic principles of wilderness first aid!

Come join Women Who Explore Salt Lake in learning some basic principles of wilderness first aid! You’ll walk away feeling more confident about exploring outdoors with your family and friends. In this class you will learn about lost/survival mentality, how to assess injuries and accidents, and how to use what’s in your pack.

Instructor: Wendy Lee has spent more than a decade as a volunteer K9 search and rescue handler, deployed all over Utah to find missing persons. She is certified by NOLS as a wilderness first responder and has taken over 100 people on introductory hikes in Salt Lake City.

What to bring:

– Whatever you carry during your normal hikes. You’ll learn to use what’s in your pack and find out what you might need to add in your pack

– Journal or something to take notes on

– Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new skills
