Day 2:

manuel antonio national park tour & Beach day

Wake to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading out on a jungle adventure!

Our day starts with a walk on the wild side as we make our way to Manuel Antonio National Park for a wildlife tour. Although this is Costa Rica's smallest national park at only 16 square kilometers, it offers one of the most diverse habitats in the world!! Within its borders you can find over 346 plant species, 109 types of mammals including 4 types of monkeys, 184 types of birds, and many other species including plants too.

A local guide who has a trained eye, along with familiarity of the park, will show us animals we would likely overlook on our own. Additionally, the guide will bring along a spotting scope so you can get up-close views of everything from monkeys to sloths, toucans to lizards and more! Did you know that Manuel Antonio is also one of the few places you can spot the squirrel monkey in the wild?

We will enjoy a light snack before ending our nature walk at the gorgeous Playa Manuel Antonio, ranked as the second best beach in all of Central America. Playa Manuel Antonio is the crowning jewel of the national park and notably so, it is truly a little slice of paradise!

After we finish the tour, spend more time exploring the national park or head to the main beach for a relaxing afternoon with your trip hosts. We’ll get lounge chairs and umbrellas for the group so we relax and play in the waves for the rest of the day. At the main beach you can also enjoy lunch, explore shops, try a surf lesson, paraglide or just relax with your favorite tropical drink!

We plan to spend the rest of the day here playing in the waves until the sunsets. Together we will enjoy appetizers and a drink together before walking the beach back to our hotel where the rest of the evening is yours to spend as you’d like. Freshen up and head out for dinner or dessert and live music or spend the evening in with room service. After today we hope you’re feeling truly relaxed and settling into what the locals call Pura Vida!

Meals: Breakfast and Sunset Happy Hour (appetizers + drink)

Day 3:

beach day, whitewater rafting or choose your own adventure!

Buenos Dias! Wake slow and enjoy a cup of coffee as you listen to the early morning sounds of macaws, monkeys, toucans and cicadas. Today is a choose your own adventure day!

If you are looking for a relaxing day, take a walk down to Playitas to watch local surfers or enjoy a quieter beach, Playa Biesanz.

If a thrilling adventure is more your style, then we’ve got you covered! We’re heading out for a white water rafting adventure on the “Chorro” section of the Naranjo river!

This part of the river takes you through narrow canyons surrounded by huge boulders, you’ll pass by beautiful cascading waterfalls the middle of the rainforest, and with a little luck we will spot wildlife. The rapids are class IV-V. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours. It includes river snack and a typical Costa Rican meal for lunch before returning back home. Alternatively, there is a class II-III rafting option that can be substituted in place of the Chorro which goes down the Savegre River.

After a wonderful day in the land of Pura Vida, spend the evening as you wish. We recommend heading out for a sunset dip and drink - the sunsets are not to be missed! After freshen up and head out to enjoy dinner at a place of your choice tonight. There are so many great restaurants to choose from nearby and your trip host is always happy to help suggest places or make any arrangements.
