group of travelers looking into the jungle in costa rica

Wake to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast before heading out on a full day of jungle adventures!

Our morning starts with a walk on the wild side as we head out for a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Although this is Costa Rica's smallest national park at only 16 square kilometers, it offers one of the most diverse habitats in the world!! Within its borders you can find over 346 plant species, 109 types of mammals including 4 types of monkeys, 184 types of birds, and many other species including plants too.

A local guide who has a trained eye, along with familiarity of the park, will show will us animals we would likely overlook on our own. Additionally, the guide will bring along a spotting scope so you can get up-close views of everything from monkeys to sloths to toucans to lizards and more! Did you know that Manuel Antonio is also one of the few places you can spot the squirrel monkey in the wild?

We will enjoy a light snack before our ending our nature walk at the gorgeous Playa Manuel Antonio, ranked as the second best beach in all of Central America. Playa Manuel Antonio is the crowning jewel of the national park and notably so as it truly a little slice of paradise!

After the tour, you will have the option to stay and enjoy the park or playa as long as you would like, or you will also have the option to catch a ride back to the house with our guide. Lunch is on your own today so if you stick around in the park, you can enjoy lunch at the cafe inside the park or you can head to the main beach, Playa Espadilla just outside the park to grab a bite to eat at one of the local beachside restaurants.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. We will meet back up at home just after 4:00 p.m. to get ready for a fun evening adventure. Tonight we will explore the dark side of the jungle on a guided night walk. Costa Rica is known for its diversity in wildlife, and during this tour you may see bats, Jesus Christ lizards, spiders, owls, varieties of frogs, snakes, spiders and many interesting insects. Our guide will provide you with a flashlight for the walk. Keep your eyes open - maybe you'll be able to spot the tiny tree frogs or a sleeping sloth first! After a true walk on the wild side, we will enjoy pizza and snacks for a late dinner back at home.

Relax and unwind with a tropical drink back home as you listen to the sounds of the jungle at night before retreating to your warm, cozy bed.
