3 Year as an Ambassador
It’s been 3 years since I became an ambassador for Women Who Explore.
I’m grateful everyday that this community came into my life and I want to tell you a little bit about why. I’ve grown so much these last couple years and I owe so much of that to the people I’ve met and experiences I’ve had while being an ambassador.
From my very first event that I hosted to go kayaking, I knew this was something so special. I remember being so nervous to host an event on my own, but there was so much encouragement and positivity from the women surrounding me that I couldn’t help but be brave. And I’m just so glad that I did.
Since then I’ve been cave exploring, gone to yoga classes, went rock climbing outdoors, drank at several happy hours, hosted my own book club, taken so many steps on so many hikes and much more.
Not only that, but I’ve learned from my mistakes. I learned to find strength in others and found magic in the outdoors.
Hosting events and meeting new women who share similar interest has been an incredible gift. Not only have I made new friends, but I’ve learned so much and gained a lot of knowledge in the process.
One of the things I’ve come to realize about Women Who Explore is that we don’t hold each other back from following our dreams, we support one another and find so much strength in our comrades accomplishments.
You see, just because someone else is shining, doesn’t mean your light needs to dim. To the women who know me, and have grown with me.. I’m so lucky I get to be in your circle. And to my fellow ambassadors.. keep doing what you’re doing because you’re all incredible.
I’m inspired everyday by the things we accomplish and the dreams that come true because of this community.
If you’re hesitant or apprehensive about joining an event or becoming an ambassador for your local chapter, just know that you’re not alone. But I can guarantee you will gain something in the process. Whether it be friendship, companionship, or a safe place to be yourself and explore new things, know that you are welcome and we’re so happy you want to be here.
Happy trails folks!
